The horror of the mass murders of eight innocent people at three Atlanta area spas continues to haunt us. While we seek to understand the motives that led to this horrific act, there is one problem we can fix immediately.

The shooter was able to purchase his gun and ammunition that afternoon, without a background check or waiting period.

For too long our state has bent its laws to the heavy-handed NRA rather than enact common sense gun legislation.


Now is the time for our legislators to pass universal background checks before any more needless deaths occur due to lax gun laws.
