For the past month or so, anyone driving south on Interstate 85 past the old Turner Field stadium will see a bright conglomeration of carnival rides on the right.

That’s the Atlanta Fair, which has existed for nearly four decades.

But keep going a little further south west, and you’ll find another fair in town.

The ARTlanta Fair, a niche event that organizers have described as “Art Basel meets the state fair,” debuts at Fort McPherson this weekend. It includes rides, games, food, an “art village,” live music and panel discussions.

ARTlanta Fair runs from noon to 11 p.m. today, and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

When it’s open after 8 p.m., the event will cater to those 18 and up by offering drinks and “other adult themed night time events,” according to the website.

Admission starts at $5 online.

The fair was created by the ARTlanta Gallery, which is located on nearby Bartow Street.

The gallery is also involved with “mArtket Mondays” at Fort Mac, which includes art exhibits, live paintings and D Js.
