El lis Lanier (Lanny) Finch, age 83, of Decatur, GA, passed away on Friday, June 22,2018.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Myra Finch, his sister Betsy M. Barb of Stone Mountain, son and daughter-in-law James Howard Finch (Ka thy) of Birmingham, AL and son and daughter-in law Stephen Lanier Finch (Christi ne) of Suwanee, GA, two grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was a veteran, with service in the United States Army. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1959 and was a loyal fan of the Crimson Tide. He enjoyed a long and successful career in radio and television broadcasting sales and management, culminating in his role as President of the Georgia Association of Broadcasters. He is a member of the GAB Hall of Fame. Mr. Finch was an active member of Briarcliff United Method ist Church for over 40 years, teaching adult Sunday school classes and serving on administrative committees. He chaired the building committee that constructed the new sanctuary. His happiest times were spent with his family and watching Alabama football games. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, June 26,2018 at 10: 00 a.m. at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the GAB E. Lanier Finch Scholarship with the Georgia Association of Broadcasters, or the University Libraries Annual Giving Caps tone Fund at the University of Alabama.
